Red light therapy has been used as a natural healing modality going back to the 1970’s. NASA used it originally to keep astronauts healthy while they were in space. A number of leading university medical research centers including Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Wisconsin University, and many others have studied the benefits of red light therapy’s mitochondrial healing effects. There are more than 3,000 studies and articles conducted by the National Institute of Health (NIH) that support a variety of use cases and conditions where fully-body photobiomodulation (PBM) promoted healing effects in humans and animals.
Prior to the mid-2000’s, industrial-grade red light therapy was only available in handheld devices. Prism Light Pod was one of two companies that pioneered whole-body red light therapy systems, also referred to as PBM systems. Below are videos and articles that highlight whole-body red light therapy benefits.
