The Best Way to Fade Dark Spots

Young woman with smooth skin

Uneven skin tone or hyperpigmentation is a common skin concern. Hyperpigmentation appears as dark spots on the skin known as age spots or sun spots. They arise from sun exposure and are found mostly on areas of the skin frequently exposed like the face, neck, hands and arms.

Melasma is extreme hyperpigmentation appearing as asymmetrical and blotchy, brownish spots on the face. It develops from the inside out through hormonal changes, pregnancy or medications like birth control.

Why it’s so hard to treat

Though melasma appears on the visible epidermis layer of the skin; it’s rooted deeply in the dermis layer. Topical treatments tend to be inconsistent and short-lived because sunlight triggers the spots to reactivate and darken. Melasma is considered a serious condition because treatment is challenging and can generate psychological distress. The deeper the pigment; the harder it is to treat lasting even decades for some.

The best way to treat it

For deeply located dermal melasma, topical medications cannot penetrate deep enough to reach the hyperactive melanocytes that cause the dark spots. Fortunately, photobiomodulation therapy devices can reach the dermis. Unique red light wavelengths penetrate into skin cells and ATP in the mitochondria. Activating the mitochondria powers cells to do what they do best: heal, rejuvenate, and repair damage which quells this abnormal pigment production.

CONCLUSION

This pilot study demonstrates that dermal melasma might be improved without tissue damage by using pulsed PBM photons. Interestingly, there might be an additional advantage to using PBM, in that it might precondition the skin, helping the patient to build a resistance to future solar UV ray exposure. This is an important finding, since the worst triggering factor in melasma is sun exposure.

How the Prism Light Pod heals the body
Six Settings of Prism Light Pod

Whole-body red light therapy provides a myriad of health benefits because it makes the cells in your muscles, organs and tissues become energized and healthy! The Prism Light Pod’s six settings optimize 14,000 red and near-infrared LEDs to different frequency and intensity levels to focus on how deep to penetrate the body.

To heal skin concerns: Skin Conditioning & Anti-Aging rejuvenates skin cells which increases collagen production and promotes the regeneration of healthy cells that contribute to healthier skin and complexion.

To reduce nerve pain, simply choose Chronic Pain Management to improve nerve regeneration. Click here for more on red LEDs and nerve regeneration.

The Prism Light Pod’s optimized settings turn the frequency and intensity levels of the 630nm, 650nm and 850nm wavelengths up and down to promote different health benefits. Skin cells can be rejuvenated with 630nm, whereas 850nm penetrates deep enough to regenerate nerves.

About Prism Light Pod

Prism Light Pod is the most powerful photobiomodulation system with the deepest red light penetration because our light waves are closest to the body at 1/2 inch – 3 inches away from the body and 1-3 inches away from above depending on the size of the user. Our competitor’s light waves are 5 – 24 inches away from the body, losing 80% of the light therapy benefits.
